I ordered some Clubman bars, 2 sets of mini turn signals, some grips, and 4 air-filter pods (to replace the stock air box) yesterday from Dime City Cycles, so hopefully they will be delivered by this weekend. A lot of people are using these small batteries from home alarm systems. The problem is these small batteries are mostly for the lights, so they won’t have a lot of kick for the electric start if it’s needed. It’s old and fairly straight forward, so it’s easier to work on.
A good thing is that the KZ650 has a electric a kick start (which works fine. That will allow the battery to give all of it’s juice to the electric start. I think I’ll use the stock seat pan for the new racer seat as well.
The mechanic there has a set of points for a KZ650 there so that will be an easy check. I’ll update this post as I progress with the conversion.

Most men’s trousers used button-fly fastening until the 1940s.
Often a zip fastener alone does not ensure a correct date identification of vintage clothing.
Be aware that zippers can be replaced over time and some modern garments may use a vintage-style zip to create a retro look.
It was only when zippers became less likely to break that they moved to a more visible area of the garment.

And here are a few tips for laying carbon fiber cloth over fiberglass that were culled from several news groups: I’m still working on a theme for the bike which will then determine the paint design and some of the cosmetic work that will be needed. Have to make sure she is mechanically sound before I make her pretty though. UPDATE 26 FEBRUARY 2014: Picked up the bike last Saturday.
